CARE- Defending dignity, Fighting poverty

This campaign is one that caught my eye. I have never really heard about this campaign before but when reading about what they do, it was really touching. The organization called CARE  engages   "women and girls at key moments for greatest impact: when pregnant and raising an infant, when applying classroom skills in the home and community, and when earning a living" (care.org). This program has had great success and continues to help people around the world. Poverty is one of our key struggles in the world so to have a program focus so strongly upon poverty along with women and girls has really had a positive impact.

Almost there

It is almost my last class session in electronic media relations! I can't believe it. We are doing presentations which are very interesting. It is really cool to see what some students come up with when planning or thinking about doing a campaign. Easter weekend just past and it was a very nice time at home. Now I am back at school full throttle with school. I have some hard finals coming up. Overall this class has been a fun and great experience. It has allowed me to be creative and really expand my options when it comes to planning something to take in every account. This class has taught me a lot for the future.

What do you think?

I came across this ad a while ago but have found that it has been a very controversial ad. The way individuals interpret and analyze a picture or ad is different. Dolce&Gabbana is an expensive brand that tries to look at the fact that sex sells. The ad is controversial in that there are 4 guys and one girl, and the girl has a man over her. This seems somewhat degrading to women and has been fought over for some time. Although the company does very well in revenue, many find that all there ads are somewhat sexual and overpowering at times. It makes you think. These are the images we are seeing. These are the images we live by. Is this what we think is acceptable and normal?

Reflection of the class so far

Knowing that I only have 2 more weeks left of my sophomore year is exciting but scary! Everything has been going by so fast. We recently just finished a podcast in class which was very interesting because I have never done one before. I love that I  have been able to express my interests in this class along with making up my only publications of newsletters, brochures, and ads.  This class have prepared me for future things that I want to do. I love being creative and this class has allowed me to think outside the box. I hope to advertise and public speak for future companies I will be involved with. I want to make an impact on people with the ideas I have and the words I speak.  Working on my final project I plan to make up my own event and make it as realistic as I can. I love being able to use our imaginations. It is cool to see what some people come up with.

Victoria Secret's efforts to help breast cancer

This breast cancer awareness video was very clever in catching the audiences attention along with putting information into a clip. This was very influential and has a strong impact.  The silence of the video with the visuals and music really pulled the video together allowing for it to be successful.

Ipad 2

In class today we discussed a lot about the Ipad and Apple company. There were many good points brought to my attention which is why I found the need to blog about it. Apple is one of the most reliable company's there is but something that was brought to my attention was how they are not very community based. They focus alot of there company and there company only, making it hard for those not apart of Apple to struggle when using some of there applications and what not. The Ipad has been updated, and the way they advertised it was very successful, however when looking at SWOT, you get a bigger and more eye opening opinion about the new Ipad. Overall Apple makes great products and advertises them well.
